• Felt For Flower Pots

Kunin Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt felt is amazing for craft projects but did you know it has lots of practical uses around the home? Today I am sharing with you two very simple, practical ways to use Kunin Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt to make things better.

    Flower-Pots-Lined-with-Felt-to-prevent-dirt-from-falling-out-and-allow-drainage

Lining flower pots to prevent the dirt from getting out used to be a challenge. I’ve tried rocks, gravel, pieces of broken pots, and even a golf ball to prevent the dirt from flowing out of the hole in the bottom of flower pots. The challenge is to keep the dirt in but allow water to drain. Enter Kunin Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt available by the yard!

Cut a piece of felt to fit the inside of the pot as a liner. The felt will:

    • Allow the pot to drain
    • Keep the dirt inside the pot
    • Resist mold and mildew

Another way to use Kunin Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt is UNDER a pot to protect a table top or counter.

    Use-Flower-Pot-to-Hold-Kitchen-Utensils

We found use large flower pot to store all of our cooking utensils in on the kitchen counter. I just got brand new quartz counter tops installed so to protect them, we cut out a circle of felt and placed it under the pot. This way we can safely slide the pot out of the way for cleaning.

SO much better than trying to cover with pottery chips or rocks!
Felt also makes a great wick for plants, like African Violets, that like to draw up their water from below… stick a 1/2″ wide strip out the bottom hole and up the side before adding dirt.
